SCUBA DIVING

Windsor Golf & Country club

This is an eighteen-hole golf course and the only one of its kind in East Africa. It is situated 15 kilometers from Nairobi, and it is a place that anyone seeking luxury apart from golfing must visit. From the golf course you will get a glimpse of Mt. Kenya, Ngong Hills, monkeys and birds and finally coffee plantation just at the border.

Mount Kenya Safari Club

The course sits in the shadows of Mount Kenya and therefore provides some of the most spectacular insights that could be found on any golf course. Water bunkers are found in most of the holes, or small ponds, at green side which are used for drainage purposes. There are abundant birds and peacock at sight.

Kakamega Golf Club

The course was laid out in 1931 initially with four holds. Members of this club are treated to a nine-hole golf course with unique wide fairways and Marabou storks occasionally roaming the course. The fourth hole is said to be the longest and has a par of five for both men and women.

Nyanza Golf Club

The golf course is situated at the foot of Lake Victoria, one of the fresh water lakes in the world. It came into being in 1936, and its altitude is 1,067 meters above sea level. The eighth hole is very interesting as it plays across number five and is also a favourite hippo visiting place.

Leisure Lodge Golf Club

This is the only golf course in South Coast, Diani. The coursewas set to have five tee positions for ladies and men who are handicapped and medals.

KENYA WEDDINGS

CONFIRMATION OF DOWRY

The bride and groom introduce the two families dowry is discussed and the agreement given. The two families drink together to celebrate their new found relationship.

PRE-WEDDING NIGHT

The Groom is escorted by his spokesperson and the chosen Aunties leave for the Bride’s village to take the Bride’s wedding attire, jewelry and gifts for the Bride’s parents for the approval by the Bride’s Aunties. Once approved, then the Bride’s parent in front of the two families give their blessings to the couple as an indication of accepting the Groom as their son. While this is going on there is a lot of merry making as the two groups try to outshine one another in songs of praise and poetry. Thereafter, the Groom and his party leave for their village.

WEDDDING DAY

An hour before the wedding Ceremony, the Groom’s Aunties and Uncles proceed to the bride’s home but alas! The contract is not yet complete and there is a toke n of appreciation to be given to the Bride’s Aunties in order to allow them to leave. At this juncture negotiations start all over again between the two groups in form of songs and poetry. The token is given and the entire party proceeds to the venue of the wedding.
